Choose the Arts: "Hercules" in Marysville

camp cover

This year’s Choose the Arts summer arts camp focuses on the performing arts.  Working with the Missoula Children’s Theatre, the nation’s largest touring children’s theatre, the Choose the Arts staff will work with campers to present “Hercules.” The Missoula Children’s Theatre tour team arrives with a set, lights, costumes, props and make-up, everything it takes to put on a play…except the cast.

On the first day of camp, campers will go through an open audition. The show is rehearsed throughout the week and a public performance is presented at the end of camp. All MCT shows are original adaptations of classic children’s stories and fairytales . . . a twist on the classic stories that you know and love.

Creativity, social skills, goal achievement, communication skills and self-esteem are all characteristics that are attained through the participation in this unique, educational project. MCT’s mission is the development of lifeskills in children through participation in the performing arts.

Local law enforcement will participate in the camp, too, providing information about ways to combat bullying and to say NO to drugs!

The camp is limited to 60 participants.  The fee for the weeklong camp is $50.  Scholarships are available.

The camp is open to students entering first grade to entering ninth grade during the 2024/25 school year.

The camp will be held at the Marysville High School, 1011 Walnut Street.  Camp starts at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 2:30 p.m.

There is a required public performance Friday, June 28, at 6:30 p.m.
