The public is invited to an artist reception for “Cosmos and Soul,” an exhibition featuring the artwork of Alex Laughlin at the Lee Dam Center for Fine Art.
The reception gives guests a chance to meet Laughlin in person, view the exhibition and visit with the artist about his work and what shaped it.
Laughlin is a graduate of Valley Heights High School and a former Artistic Leadership Liaison for the Marshall County Arts Cooperative. He has said creating art has been part of his life for as long as he can remember and that a spiritual perspective has shaped his work. During college, he created a painting he now calls a Soul Portrait, a piece he used as a focal point for meditation and daily reflection as he worked through a difficult season.
“That experience showed me how profoundly art can reprogram the stories we carry,” Laughlin said. “It helped me release old identities, dissolve limiting beliefs and step into alignment with my purpose.”
The reception is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
