Music of Four Centuries

Vermillion PETER-FLTC-12

Peter Fletcher will make his debut in Vermillion at the Community Center performing his Music of Four Centuries Concert.

The evening begins with a meal catered by the Friends of Vermillion:  smoked pork chops, baked potato bar, green beans, salad and a roll for $15.  A special kids’ meal with ham and mac & cheese is available for $5.

Dinner will be served from 5-6:30 p.m.

Following, Mr. Fletcher takes the stage to perform an audience-friendly, solo recital including repertoire that runs the gamut from the Baroque period through the 20th century.

His program features the Bach Chaconne, Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring, Tárrega’s  Recuerdos de la Alhambra, which is a favorite among audiences.

In addition, Mr. Fletcher  will perform three piano pieces by Edvard Grieg where he himself wrote the transcriptions.  They are part of an all-Grieg album which was released on Centaur Records in 2014.

The concert will culminate with Isaac Albeniz’s Rumores de la Caleta, one of the most exciting Spanish works in the classical guitar repertoire.

Dessert will be served during intermission; a freewill donation will be accepted.
