SkyFest Marsyville

Untitled design (1)

SkyFest Marysville features hot air balloons, live music, food trucks and a majestic fireworks display Saturday, July 13, at Lakeview Sports Complex, Marysville.

The festivities start at 4:30 p.m. with kids’ activities  and lawn games.  Food vendors will be on site, too.

At 6:30 p.m., the Marshall County Arts Cooperative will present LOGAN MIZE – a FREE concert as part of Mize’s The American Dream Tour.

After the concert, five hot air balloons will start to glow.

The hot air balloons inflate shortly after dark and light up the night sky like Chinese lanterns.

“Once they start glowing, it’s the best time to see them,” Chris Sabia said.  “The first thirty minutes are the most magical because most people haven’t seen this before.”

The hot air balloon glow is sponsored by Marysville Convention and Tourism.

After the balloon glow, the sky will burst with a 20-minute fireworks display choreographed to music.  The display is put together by Rainbow Fireworks, Inman, Kan.

Jeff Keating, a member of Marysville’s city council, helped organize the fireworks.  The fireworks are funded by the City of Marysville, Marysville Convention and Tourism and private donations.

For more information about the event, people may call the Marysville Convention and Tourism office at 785-562-3101.
