The Marshall County Arts Cooperative’s annual golf tournament, Swinging Fore the Arts: Peace, Love and Holes-in-One, is Saturday, July 29. The tournament is a four-person scramble at the Marysville Country Club.
The theme for this year’s tournament is Peace, Love and Holes-in-One. Golfers are encouraged to dress accordingly.
There are artistic touches at several of the holes where golfers will explore their artistic side.
“We make sure the arts are included in our tournament,” said Sally Oliver, the organization’s vice president. “Having the arts at the center of this event makes it appeal to a variety of players and it reminds everyone what we’re doing and what we’re about.”
Musicians perform on the porch of the Country Club all day; their sounds are heard throughout the course. Not only do the golfers get to enjoy the music, people are invited to sit on the porch and enjoy the music. The event is open to the public.
Performance schedule:
11 a.m. – 2p.m. Live Circuit (featuring Mike Wiegers)
2:15-4:30 p.m. – KJ Bowers
The tournament is a fundraiser for the arts cooperative. The cooperative uses the money raised to bring professional artists to the county to work with students and perform for area residents.
Funds raised at the tournament help the cooperative sponsor these events.
